Irena Mihaela Dragotescu

About the person

Dr. Irena Mihaela Dragotescu is a medical doctor with extensive international experience in psychiatry and internal medicine. After completing her medical training and specialization in Romania, she worked for many years as an infectious disease specialist and university lecturer. In Canada, she held both clinical and research positions at the Douglas Mental Health Institute and supported immigrant communities through psychosocial work. Since 2014, she has been part of the Swiss mental health system, currently serving as Cheffe de clinique adjointe in geriatric psychiatry at the Fondation de Nant. Dr. Dragotescu is fluent in French and English, speaks Romanian as her native language, and brings a strong background in clinical care, research, and transcultural psychosocial support.

Dr. Irena Mihaela Dragotescu ist Fachärztin mit langjähriger internationaler Erfahrung in der Psychiatrie und Inneren Medizin. Nach ihrer medizinischen Ausbildung und Spezialisierung in Rumänien war sie viele Jahre als Spezialistin für Infektionskrankheiten und Universitätsassistentin tätig. In Kanada arbeitete sie u. a. am Douglas Mental Health Institute in Forschung und klinischer Praxis sowie in der psychosozialen Betreuung von Migrant*innen. Seit 2014 ist sie im Schweizer Gesundheitssystem aktiv, derzeit als Cheffe de clinique adjointe in der Alterspsychiatrie der Fondation de Nant. Dr. Dragotescu ist zweisprachig in Französisch und Englisch, mit Rumänisch als Muttersprache, und verfügt über umfangreiche Erfahrung in klinischer Versorgung, Forschung und transkultureller psychosozialer Arbeit.
